My Facebook post this morning quotes UK news source Telegraph that plans to erect the replica of arch to Temple of Bel have been scrapped. However, though this may appear to be cause of rejoicing, I believe there is more to this than meets the eye. Watchmen and intercessors please read to the end. The confrontation with Ba’al which I wrote about last week is NOT over! With the sound of the shofar going out to the nations from every corner of the earth, Yahweh is showing His people how to repent from their wicked ways! This post contains more than what was posted on Facebook earlier today. Read very carefully to the end!
First, let’s examine the “backtracking”:
“When the IDA revealed last December that it was intending to use its data and expertise to build not one but two replica Palmyra arches – to be unveiled simultaneously in Trafalgar Square in London and Times Square in New York – it generated headlines across the world. Since then there has been some backtracking on the original idea. There will be no simultaneous unveiling in New York – they may transport the London arch there later, or build another one – and the Palmyra arch that is being reconstructed is no longer the entrance to the Temple of Bel (which survived an attempt to blow it up in August 2015) but the Arch of Triumph (partially destroyed in October) formerly located at one end of the Great Colonnade.” Telegraph, April 6, 2016
I invite you to dig into this with me. Matthew Vander Els kindly alerted me that, though widely reported otherwise, at least according to Wikipedia, Bel is NOT Ba’al, though both were worshiped as “supreme gods.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baalshamin
“Baalshamin or Ba’al Šamem[1] (Aramaic: ܒܥܠ ܫܡܝܢ), lit. ‘Lord of Heaven(s)’, is a Northwest Semitic god and a title applied to different gods at different places or times in ancient Middle Eastern inscriptions, especially in Canaan/Phoenicia and Syria. The title was most often applied to Hadad, who is also often titled just Ba‘al. Baalshamin was one of the two supreme gods and the sky god of pre-Islamic Palmyra in ancient Syria (Bel being the other supreme god).[2] There his attributes were the eagle and the lightning bolt, and he perhaps formed a triad with the lunar god Aglibol and the sun god Malakbel.[3]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bel_(mythology)

Bel (/ˈbeɪl/; from Akkadian bēlu), signifying “lord” or “master”, is a title rather than a genuine name, applied to various gods in the Mesopotamian religion of Akkad, Assyria and Babylonia. The feminine form is Belit ‘Lady, Mistress’. Bel is represented in Greek as Belos and in Latin as Belus. Linguistically Bel is an East Semitic form cognate with Northwest Semitic Baal with the same meaning. Bel became especially used of the Babylonian god Marduk. Worshiped in triad with the lunar god Aglibol and the sun god Yarhibol.
Note that it is Aglibol that connects these two.

Aglibôl was a lunar deity in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra. His name means “Calf of Bel” (“Calf of the Lord”). Aglibôl is depicted with a lunar halo decorating his head and sometimes his shoulders, and one of his attributes is the sickle moon. Aglibôl is linked with the sun god Yarḥibôl in a famous trinity. He is also associated with the Syrian versions of Astarte “Venus” and with Arṣu “Evening Star”. Aglibôl’s cult continued into Hellenic times and was later extended to Rome.
Note also that, according to the Telegraph article, it is the Triumph of Rome arch that will be installed in Trafalgar Square. Friends, this arch was established by Constantine who instigated and legalized the worldwide persecution of Jews! The battle is not over! We must declare that the only thing that will be lifted up is the name of Yeshua, Jesus, our Messiah!!!! Every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that Yeshua/Jesus is LORD over ALL! This is the only way that modern-day Elijah will successfully confront the prophets of Ba’al, Bel, and any other deity that dares to assert supremacy.

Dear watchmen and intercessors, let us keep digging as well as asking, seeking, and knocking that we may understand the truth and unravel the lies and truly be able to pray the effective prayer of the righteous. We are crying in response to 2 Chron. 7:14, “if My people….” but now we must listen to Yahweh’s response:
“Hear, O My people, while I admonish you! O Israel, if you would but listen to me! There shall be no strange god among you; you shall not bow down to a foreign god. I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. But My people did not listen to my voice; Israel would not submit to me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels. Oh, that My people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways! I would soon subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes. Those who hate the LORD would cringe toward him, and their fate would last forever. But he would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.” (Ps. 81:8-16″
Who is “My people”? It is those who believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, whose offspring, both physical and spiritual, is “Israel.” “Israel” is “My people.” “Israel” is the name of the household of God. “Israel” is far more than the tiny nation in the middle east hated by her neighbors. Israel consists of every one who, like Abraham, “believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness.” We are part of the “stars in the sky and the sands of the sea” promise to Abraham and his seed (Gen. 22:17).
This part of the Good News of the gospel has been hidden from most until now. WE who believe in Jesus/Yeshua are former gentiles, full citizens, heirs to the promises, and, thus obligated to keep the covenant given to Israel at Mount Sinai through Moses. We are NOT obligated by legalism; but obligated by love to the one who died that we might be come the children of God and become one with Him. We are supposed to “walk even as He walked.” (1 John 2:6). This was the plan all along to fulfill Yeshua’s John 17 prayer, “that they may be one as WE are one.” (John 17:22)
It was told from the beginning: “There shall be one law for the native and for the stranger who sojourns among you.” Exodus 12:49, also Numbers 15:16,29, and Isaiah 56:2-8. ]
Sin is defined in the New Testament as the breaking of God’s law [Torah].

instructions for life and life more abundantly which were given at Sinai. Read again the promises for those who obey found in Deut. 28: 1-14 and ask yourself “who wouldn’t want that?” These promises our ours, IF….we obey. “If MY PEOPLE will humble themselves…. and turn from their wicked ways…” We have not understood our wicked ways because we have not understood our Father’s standards of holiness. Yet, His arms are outstretched, even as Yeshua’s parable of the prodigal pictures, ready not only to forgive but to heal, to restore, to give us the robe, the ring, and new sandals.
The covenant was renewed by the shedding of Yeshua’s blood so that HIs Father’s commandments could be written on hearts of flesh, whereas they were once written on stone. Further, He gave us the Holy Spirit to empower us to walk in His Father’s ways. The same spirit which unites Jesus/Yeshua and the Father as One also unites His children and makes us one with Them in Him. Those who understand this are the most blessed people who have ever lived on the planet!
